Your new role
Delivered in collaboration with the University of Toronto, Caring Dads is an evidence-based early intervention program for fathers who have used or use family violence. The program support Fathers to reflect and recognise the impact of their behaviours, strengthen motivation to change, and build respectful, non-abusive relationships with their children and co-parents.
As a Caring Dads Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in promoting child-centered fathering, addressing the effects of Family Violence, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure children's safety and wellbeing.
In this role, you will:
- Co-facilitate the 17-week Caring Dads group program with fathers who use violence.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide wrap-around case management support.
- Work closely with partner agencies to manage risk and coordinate care.
- Participate in reflective practice, supervision, and program evaluation.
About you
- Hold a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in family violence or trauma-informed practice.
- Strong group facilitation and risk assessment skills.
- Professionalism, and a child-centred approach.
- Desirable: Family Violence training and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
