Kids First Australia is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our high-quality sessional kindergarten program. This part time position (21 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) offers the benefit of school holiday breaks, supporting balance, wellbeing, and meaningful impact.
About the Role
We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher who brings strong pedagogical knowledge, a trauma informed approach, and a deep commitment to child safety, cultural inclusion, and holistic family support. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team to deliver a high quality kindergarten program aligned with the VEYLDF, National Quality Framework, and Kids Firsts evidence informed practice models.
What We're Looking For
- A qualified Early Childhood Teacher, ideally holding a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA approved equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years experience working as an ECT in a kindergarten or early learning environment.
- Strong understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, NQS, VEYLDF, and other relevant frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a trauma informed lens to practice, supporting childrens emotional safety, regulation, and wellbeing.
- Commitment to creating and maintaining a child safe, culturally inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Experience working holistically with families, recognising their strengths, contexts, and diverse needs.
- Ability to work in partnership with families, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support positive outcomes for children.
- Confident in curriculum planning, documentation, assessment for learning, and reflective practice.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build warm, professional relationships.
