About the role/Opportunity

  • This role will allow you to:
    • Support and sustain engagement of children in a kindergarten environment
    • Build trusting & respectful relationships with parents to encourage effective in-home learning
    • Foster important connections and collaboration between the family, the early childhood education and care (ECEC) service and its educators, and other services
    • Share and develop your expertise in relational and strength-based practice, by engaging your strong interpersonal communication skills and empowering families and their support networks to work in collaboration for better outcomes
    • Apply your demonstrated skill for independent work outputs and supporting team members to achieved desired results

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Essential: Degree qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood or related field
  • Have genuine understanding and expertise in:
    • VEYLDF
    • The Best Interests Practice Framework
    • Attachment Theory
    • Trauma-informed Practice and the Core Values for Trauma-informed Services
    • Small talk coordinator training and resources
    • Structural, familial and relational barriers to access universal services
    • Reflective practice
    • Social determinants of health.
    • Knowledge of the child and family services welfare sector.
  • Ability to apply organisational practice models, procedures, theoretical frameworks, and relevant legislation when working with clients and teams
  • High level skills to engage and triage clients in an effective, safe, and timely manner
  • Demonstrated responsibility for independent work outputs whilst contributing strongly as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve desired results. Previous experience of acting up or performing higher duties is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated capability to engage in networking opportunities and partnerships to build effective collaborations and relationships to offer best practice services to children and families.
  • Demonstrated personal resilience and a level of self-awareness relating to one's own practice and relationships with others.
